What actually happens when we do something that we don’t want to do?
I am not talking about going to the gym when we don’t feel like it. Or, getting out of bed in the morning to go to work.
I am talking about saying yes to something that we really don’t want to do, but we say yes anyway because of guilt. Or, because we want approval. Or, because we want to please someone.
We aren’t saying yes because it is something that is necessary for our survival, we are saying yes because we think we should.
Forget what we think we should do…
Fuck that should. Well, maybe not that last one 😉
This is YOUR journey. You are doing your best. Should’a, could’a, would’a doesn’t mean shit.
The only thing that matters is what IS.Stop should-ing all over yourself. Click To Tweet
When we say yes but we mean no, we go against our gut. We lose a piece of ourselves.
That can later show up as bitterness and resentment. And, those emotions don’t tend to be very sexy.
Anything we do that feels different is hard. Even if we know it is something good for us to do. So, often times saying yes feels easier than saying no. But, we are taking the pressure out of the short-term and replacing it in the long-term.
Remember, we are allowed to say no to things that we don’t want to do. Without guilt. And, without explaining ourselves.
So, next time you are asked to do something that you really just don’t want to do, simply say “No.” Forget about what you think you should say, and go with your gut.
Then congratulate yourself for being a sexy goddess.
