On the topic of haters…

Haters scare me, not because they hate but because I know that many times haters actually have an impact and discourage people from achieving their goals. That’s whats scary. What if Taylor Swift listened to her haters? She wouldn’t have 10 Grammy’s. What if Michael Phelps listened to his haters? He wouldn’t be in the process of making the biggest comeback of his career. What if I listened to my haters? I would still be flying under the radar, not really helping anyone and not really helping myself either.

If you are doing something different, there will be haters.

But, you are under no obligation to be the same person that you were 2 years ago, 2 months ago, or even 2 days ago.

You are allowed to grow.

So, here is my advice… Don’t be a hater and don’t listen to your haters.

I believe we all have a bigger purpose, and each person’s purpose is unique in some way. So, yes you will be different and that is a good thing. In my opinion, positivity attracts positivity, so I really don’t interact much with my haters.  I also don’t judge them because I also used to be a hater. But, I’ve learned and I’ve grown since then.

If you are at a point where you let the haters get to you, then you still have work to do on yourself…

So, how do you deal with haters? Let me know in the comments below.

  • Great Post Bridgette! You are absolutely right about haters (aka “trolls with goals”) and you just have to move on and realize that they will always exist. I love how you said you’re under no obligation to be the same person you were 2 yrs, 2 months, or 2 days ago. You must grow. Thanks for sharing!
