3 Quick Tips for Lowering Stress in the Wake of the Election

Wow – I’m not gonna lie, I am exhausted this week. The anticipation and the aftermath of the election has been exhausting. And, stressful. So, I am writing a short, no nonsense, to the point, blog post this week.

If you are feeling stressed too, here are my top 3 quick tips for reducing stress and anxiety.

  1. Gratitude. Expressing love and thankfulness can put life in perspective almost immediately. Need help with this one? Check out this post.
  2. Meditation. Taking a mental break to be present can calm you down significantly. Not sure how to meditate, or think it’s weird? Check out this post.
  3. Be the change you want to see. Upset and/or disappointed? Acting in hate and judgment will only bring more hate and judgment. Shutting people out doesn’t work either. Why? Check out this post on unfriending people.

Your choice

I know it’s difficult to hear this, but it’s up to you to choose joy.

My coach, Ellory Wells, said it best:

“Focus on what you can control, ignore the rest.

Take 100% responsibility for your life.

Event + Response = Outcome

And remember, you can’t make a positive change with a negative attitude.”

Plus, check out our Tiny Talks Shop video from earlier this week where Nancy Hornback and I discussed moving forward in the wake of the election.

PS – Ain’t got no time for stress and anxiety in your life? Me either. Take your dreams OFF hold and join us.
